When does app switching happen?

Most of the time, you can tap the Speak button and start dictating without leaving the app you're using.

App switching happens when Typeless keyboard needs to briefly open the Typeless app to access the microphone for dictation. Once you're back in the app you were using, you can start dictating right away.

The microphone icon on the Speak button shows whether app switching will happen:

• Outlined microphone icon: Typeless keyboard briefly switches to the Typeless app. Start dictating once you're back.

• Solid microphone icon: No app switching is needed. Tap the Speak button and start dictating right away.

Your microphone stays off when idle, so Typeless isn't listening when you're not dictating.
